We finally see snow...

After a couple days of threats from the weather people we finally get some snow!! "Where is the truck," you say? Bret took Morgan to do his favorite thing in the snow... DRIVE! while I tend the sleeping babes. That's okay - I get to do my favorite thing in the snow... sit on the couch, next to the fire and WATCH! :) As you can see from the pics, the kids already got to do their favorite thing in the snow... SLED! (which happens to be Bret's second favorite thing to do in the snow) Braden was a chore to get ready, he's very much a creature of habit. Gloves, boots and a hat are not part of his usual routine so he was not happy about me forcing them all on him until he got outside to see the sled hill that Morgan and mostly Bret had already built by the time he was ready. Once he saw that, he forgot all about the torture of getting dressed, good thing kids have a short memory. Except Morgan, she has a memory like an elephant.

Morgan built a snowman with Char yesterday with the little snow that they got. Cute!

Gotta run! I've only got a precious few minutes of quiet time. Maybe I'll read!

Oh, too late, Braden's up.

We did it - the tree is decorated!

So the tree is decorated. We've been busy working, sleeping, eating and somehow sneaking in Christmas shopping. Hope you like the pics (I even included some of myself this time).

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

We did it... yesterday we all went up in the mountains and picked out our Christmas tree. Good times. I was all prepared with our camera and of course my only picture is of the kids in the car while Bret is filling up the truck with gas. Oh well, such is life. I did take a video this evening though. Bret brought the tree in and it's HUGE! It didn't look that big yesterday or even this morning drying out in the carport. It's over 9 feet tall. At least we only paid $10 for the tree permit at the Ranger station. It doesn't have branches on the back which is nice because it hugs the wall. Bret put it up and said, "Well it's ready for you to do the lights." I haven't started yet. I'm afraid I won't be able to finish. IT'S HUGE!
Our power went out for a couple hours tonight. Long enough for Bret to get out the generator and for us to actually use it (usually that's when the power comes on - right after he fires it up).

Hi all,

Just getting into the 21st century before Morgan has to start showing me how to do things on the computer. :)

Here's our blog... (am I supposed to start, "Dear diary,?")

Bret's finally picking up the cold that the rest of us are recovering from (yes, that's right I did it - ended a sentence with a preposition, whatever). Morgan is a superstar 2nd grader - her teacher is in love with her and rightly so but I'm her mom I can say that! Braden is making sure that Cody doesn't take his toys and talking a ton now. He's putting together sentences. Next is potty training. Cody is army crawling already and making all kinds of new noises. If I've done this right you should be able to see the video. He started eating rice cereal the other day and LOVES it. He very much dislikes the special Nutramigen for his milk allergy so when he tried rice cereal he ate it all up.

Since this is my first post, I don't want to overwhelm myself or you with too much. I'm going to try to keep this updated so I don't clog everyone's email memory with pictures and video.
